Industrial thread supplier American & Efird (A&E) has opened its 28th global manufacturing facility, which is situated in the Vietnamese province of Dong Nai as the company looks to capitalise on the country’s exports potential. The new facility is said to be idealistically located in close proximity to Cat Lai port and both Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City, and Long Thanh Airport.

A&E, which began constructing the manufacturing facility last summer, has now held a ceremony to mark the opening of its 28th site globally. “Vietnam is an important country for the textile and apparel sewn industry,” said A&E President, Chris Alt. “It is the second largest exporter of apparel to the United States and one of the largest global producers of apparel and non-apparel products. Setting up in Vietnam with manufacturing is very strategic to our future growth.”

The company says its new site will serve not just native customers but also those across both Cambodia and Laos. It says, with its growing portfolio within the sewn products market, its customers across Southeast Asia can now count on greater support as it looks to endear itself to a wider customer base across the region.
