The supplier of utility bedding, memory foam mattresses and many other home comfort products, has expanded its presence in South Carolina nearly ten-fold since opening operations in the Charleston area in proximity to the South Carolina Ports Authority system. The small 25,000 square foot space Soft-Tex occupied in 2013 has now grown to 236,843 sq ft.

The expansion represents investment in the company’s fast-growing Vendor Direct division, which supports lines of business where product is fulfilled by Soft-Tex and shipped directly to the end consumer on behalf of retail partners like Macy’s, JCPenney, Bed Bath and Beyond, Kohl’s, Amazon, Wayfair, Overstock, Walmart.com, Belk, Groupon, and others.

“The expansion at our South Carolina warehouse and distribution facility will allow us to be more agile in responding to changes in customer demand and other market factors while further enhancing our best-in-class fulfillment service to our retail partners, especially those who leverage our Vendor Direct programs,” said Soft-Tex CEO Jeff Chilton. The company recently hired Gary Semon as the Facility’s Manager. He most recently served as the Operations Manager for Kontane Logistics and previously as an Inventory Control Manager for Dollar General.
